How the DDos Attack Process :

  • Web hosting server is operational by sending and receiving data normally as expected response

What is anti-DDoS protection?

Anti-DDoS is a security solution to protect against distributed denial-of-service attacks. Anti-DDoS will analyze incoming packets to the servers and then once find any DDos Attack by separate none legitimate packets from others and let ONLY legitimate traffic pass through to the destination servers.

The Process Of Protections

There are three Major Steps to protect incoming traffic to the servers on the network layer level:
  • Analyze Data
  • Filtering the none legitimate from legitimate packets
  • Allow Only legitimate packets to pass through

Common Type of DDos Attacks

  • ICMP (Ping) Flood:ICMP flood overwhelms the target resource with ICMP Echo Request (ping) packets
  • SYN Flood:SYN flood DDoS attack sends multiple SYN requests
  • SYN-ACK Flood: exhaust a server’s resources
  • Ping of Death:POD attack is sending ICMP multiple malformed or malicious pings to a server.
  • HTTP Flood:Exploits seemingly-legitimate HTTP GET or POST requests
  • DNS Flood:send valid but spoofed DNS request packets
  • ACK Fragmentation Flood:Fragmented ACK packets are used in this bandwidth consuming version of the ACK & PUSH ACK Flood attack.
  • IP Null Attack:Packets contain IPv4 headers which carry information about which Transport Protocol is being used. When attackers set the value of this field to zero, these packets can bypass security measures designed to scan TCP, IP, and ICMP.
